KATIE PORTER’S STATEMENT ON HER DEMOCRATIC OPPONENT'S NEGATIVE TV AD
Irvine -- Leading congressional candidate Katie Porter today made the following statement about a negative campaign ad released by one of her Democratic opponents in CA-45:
"One of my Democratic opponents is running a negative TV ad that is factually incorrect, morally wrong, and offensive to millions of women across California and this country. I am calling on him to take it down immediately.
"Dave Min's campaign has characterized the five million members of EMILY's List, an organization dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to office, as 'Washington Insiders' and 'Special Interests.'
"That’s simply untrue.
"With less than 20% of Congress represented by women, the goal of electing more Democratic women and the efforts of millions of women and men to do so should not be an effort that is shamed by any candidate who professes to represent progressive values."
