Seniors are an important part of our community, and everybody should have the ability to retire with dignity. Katie will always protect Social Security and fight to expand benefits.
Seniors have been especially burdened by Big Pharma’s price gouging. The Inflation Reduction Act caps what seniors on Medicare pay for their prescriptions, so that no one is spending more than $2,000 a year on the life-saving drugs they need or more than $35 a month for insulin.
This law also allows Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs, finally holding Big Pharma companies accountable and saving taxpayers billions of dollars.
Katie has also led a bipartisan effort to pass the Medical Expense Deduction Act, which lowers the threshold in which families can deduct medical expenses from their taxes.
