Katie Porter’s U.S. Senate Bid Endorsed by State Senator Scott Wiener

IRVINE – Today, California State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) endorsed Congresswoman Katie Porter (CA-47) in her campaign for the U.S. Senate. Representing San Francisco and northern San Mateo County, Wiener joins a growing chorus of elected leaders and organizations to endorse Porter’s groundbreaking campaign for the U.S. Senate. 

“California needs a Senator like Katie Porter, who will go against the grain and speak truth to power,” said Wiener. “Katie’s willingness to hold corporations accountable and fight for working people is emblematic of who she is: someone who refuses to back down from a challenge and who will always stand up for the underdog. Rep. Katie Porter is running for the U.S. Senate to represent all Californians and unrig the Washington status quo. In poll after poll, Porter is the only candidate who consistently advances to a general election, finishing first or second in all surveys released to date of California voters likely to participate in the March 2024 primary. Porter also has a commanding lead over her Democratic opponents among younger voters, women, Latino voters, and progressives – groups expected to turn out in high numbers in 2024.
