A Tuition Free College Degree

California’s economic future depends on a highly-educated workforce, yet we are pricing our best and brightest out of our state. As Governor, I will fulfill the forgotten promise of our state: tuition-free college for all Californians. By pairing two years of free community college, which already exists through the California College Promise, with two free years at our UC and CSU campuses, we will create a pathway for a four-year degree tuition-free.

More than free state tuition, this is a strategy to keep California competitive. We are removing the financial barriers that force students to drop out or move out of our state. When we invest in our students, we are not just giving them a diploma – we are giving them the ability to stay, work, and innovate right here in California.
